Despite being Chareidi, Yoel silver was recently appointed as the deputy chairman of the Gush Etzion regional council. Although most residents residing in the council are categorized as Dati, there are some towns in the regional council which are Chareidi.
One of them is Maale Amos, located just 30 minutes south east from Yerushalayem, and is the town which the newly appointed deputy calls home.
According to Yoel, there is tremendous potential for Chareidi growth in the two Chareidi towns, Meitsad, and Malle Amos; which are both located in eastern Gush Etzion.
Yoel claims that these locations can turn Gush Etzion into a new Chareidi center.
“With Hashems help the great future is still in front of us. With large swaths of land, that can Be’siyata Dishmaya turn ‘Malle Amos’ and Meitsad into cities.”
As a resident of Gush Etzion himself, Yoel also related that the change on the ground is already taking place. “To my great joy, in recent years as result of hard work and much effort the Chareidi community is establishing itself more and more in Gush Etzion. Many new families of Avreichim and Bnei Torah have come in the past few years to live in the towns of Meitsad and Malle Amos”.
Aside from being close to Yerushalayim, and aside from the pleasant whether in the region due to its high elevation, the expansion of these developing Chareidi centers also offers some relief to the Chareidi housing crisis.
Since these towns are considered to be in the so-called west bank, the prices are significantly lower than in other locations around Israel.
“I see in Meitsad and Malle Amos a rare and great opportunity to fulfill the dreams of thousands of couples and families from the Chareidi sector who are dreaming of living close to Yerushalayim.
Those who are dreaming to own their own apartment, in an economic state which they can afford, and to continue living in their natural enviornemnt close to all the spiritual centers which they are connected to”.
