The condition of Niv Gil Nechemyah (42), who was critically injured in a stabbing terror attack last week in Yavneh is improving.
According to ‘Kaplan Medical center’ where Niv is hospitalized, his condition has stabilized and is improving. Despite the improvement his life is still in danger and he is still in the ICU.
Niv was critically injured last week, when a terrorist, 19-year old Asmiya Abu-Aram, entered the ‘Supersal’ supermarket in Yavne armed with a knife. The terrorist nonchalantly approached Niv, who is the assistant manager in the Supermarket, and proceeded to stab him. Despite being caught off guard and suffering from stab wounds, Niv struggled with the terrorist and attempted to get away.
The viral clip from the stores surveillance camera shows Niv bravely fighting back and lobbing items at the terrorist; who was not relenting and continued to viciously stab him.
Only after the terrorist was neutralized, did Nir who was suffering from critical injuries collapse.
The GSS is investigation how the 19- year old terrorist, a resident of ‘Yata’ a town under the PA, entered the country illegally.
A short time after the attack IDF forces raided the terrorist’s house in ‘Yata’, and interrogated his family members. The forces also confiscated artifacts which will aid in the investigation.
Niv’s family warmly thanked everyone for all the teffilos. “We want to thank all of Am Yidroel for all the support that ‘Niv Ben Hadassah’ and his family are meriting”. The family also requested that people “should continue davening for his speedy recovery”.
President Reuven Rivlin spoke with Sigalit, Niv’s wife, and wished her husband a speedy recovery. “We are all concerned and interested in how he is doing. We are wishing Niv, wholeheartedly a fast recovery, and we are praying that this should all end well and he should return home.”
