We are all too familiar with the long washing lines at weddings and shuls which are usually the result of missing washing cups.
Many times, the hall or shul does in fact have a large washing area with many sinks, but only one washing cup is available. This results in long lines which could have been avoided had the washing cups remained where they belong.

Many institutions battle this phenomena with tying the washing cups to the sink. Places that don’t tie them down often find themselves without washing cups.
Visitors to the Arizal”s kever this past yhartzeit, where surprised to discover a new and innovative solution at the sinks of the ancient beis hachaim in Tzfat.
The washing cups were connected to the sinks by means of a metal rod that can be maneuvered closer or further from the faucet. The cups can be brought directly under the faucet, filled to the brim, and then tilted over to pour on one’s hands. All this is done without actually disconnecting the cup from the sink.
The idea has gone viral, and many people are congratulating the brilliant innovation that will hopefully prevent washing cups from walking off.
