President Trump’s upcoming visit to Israel tomorrow managed to cause a ruckus among Israeli ministers today.

The ministers announced they will not be taking part in the welcoming committee for President Trump at the airport tomorrow. Their decision was made after being notified, that per the protocol they will not be permitted to greet, and personally shake President Trumps hand.

The announcement was frowned upon by PM Netanyahu who addressed the matter during the cabinet meeting this morning. Netanyahu sternly ordered all the minister to show up at the airport tomorrow and take part in the welcoming ceremony for president Trump at the airport.

Despite Netanyahu’s request, minister of interior Aryeh Deri will not be present at the airport tomorrow, his reason being that his mother just passed away and he is still ‘in the year’, when an ovel Is forbidden to hear music. Since music will be played at the welcoming ceremony tomorrow, he will refrain from participating.
The ministers were also upset at the fact that they would have to undergo a security check upon entering the airport- a security measure requested by the American secret service.

Aside from the disappointments at the airport, the ministers are also not fond of the sudden cancellation of the extravagant dinner that was to take place in the King David Hotel, with Israeli government ministers and U.S. secretary of state Rex Tillersan, and Secretary of Defense James Mattis.

During today’s cabinet meeting Netanyahu referred to Trump’s upcoming visit saying, “President of the United Sates Donald Trump together with his wife Malena, will be arriving in Israel tomorrow for an historic visit. Together with them, high government and white house officials will also be arriving. This is Trumps first foreign trip out of the United States and it’s an honor for us that he chose to come to Yerushalyim, the capital of Israel”.

Referring to the agenda of the trip, Netanyahu said, “I will discuss with president Trump more ways to strengthen the strong bond between us and the United States. We will strengthen the defense connection; which is getting stronger from day to day, and we will also discuss ways of how to further peace.”

Netanyahu concluded his remarks by saying, “Mr. President the citizens of Israel are waiting for you with open arms”.

Airforce-1 is scheduled to touch down in Ben Gurion international airport tomorrow at 12:15 PM.
