A month after an avreich from Beitar Illit was stabbed and lightly injured, near the Arab town of Walaja, security forces arrested the terrorist.
The General Security Services in conjunction with the IDF and Shai district police successfully located and arrested the terrorist who stabbed and lightly injured a 40-year-old avreich last month.
The terrorist has been identified as 30-year-old, Abdallah Muhamad Ahmed-Hadeeya, from Bet-Lechem, an active member of the Palestinian ‘Islamic jihad’. During his investigation, he revealed that he planned the attack that same morning, and it came as a revenge for the death of his relative Osama Asaus, also a member of the Islamic jihad, that was killed by security forces back in 2013, while resisting arrest.
The investigation also revealed that the avreich from Beitar Illit brought his car for repairs at a mechanic near the town of Walaja, which is in the complete control of Palestinian security forces (Area A).
After his car was repaired the avreich left the mechanic and picked up the terrorist after he asked if he could hitch a ride.
After driving for a few minutes the terrorist stabbed the avreich and immediately fled from the car. The avreich continued driving for a few minutes until he noticed an IDF position and reported the incident. The avreich was evacuated to the hospital for treatment, suffering from light injuries.
The terrorist told his investigators that he chose that specific location for the attack, since Jews from the nearby area come there occasionally to repair their cars at the local mechanics.
Following the attack the terrorist was arrested by PA security forces, but was released a short time later. Israeli security forces arrested him on April, 4 and transferred him to the Shabak for interrogation. An indictment will be filed against him in the coming days.
