Avreichim Share Experience From Today’s Kollel-Stabbing

A terrible stabbing rampage took place this morning (Teusday) in the Kollel of R’ Ariel Chefets in Netivot. A local resident from Ethiopian descent broke into the kollel and stabbed four senior Avreichim, moderately injuring them.

After regaining composure, the Avreichim threw shtenders at the attacker and managed to neutralize him until police arrived and arrested him.

One of the Avreichim injured in the stabbing shared with “Bechadrei Chareidim” his experience of the incident. “The stabber opened the door and entered, I didn’t even notice him. After he stabbed me I managed to close the door so that he shouldn’t escape.

I feel fine But I am in pain”.

Other Avreichim who were also present at the Kollel when the attack took place, also shared their experience saying: “In middle of learning we saw a man from Ethiopian descent enter the Kollel in a weird manor. First, we thought that he needs some assistance, but then he started a stabbing spree. First he stabbed a senior handicapped Avreich who was sitting near the entrance, and then continued further in to the shul and stabbed an additional three Avreichim”.

Initially there was much confusion say the Avreichim, “initially we didn’t know what was going on, after a few moments we recovered and alerted the emergency services. Some of the Avreichim threw shtenders at him and managed to neutralize him”.

The Avreichim wish to clarify that what has been circling on some media outlets that the stabbing erupted due to a brawl between the attacker and the Avreichim is totally false. “There was no quarrel, that is a blatant lie. All of the Avreichim here are good and refined, we have never seen the stabber before.

It’s a pity that rumors have been spread, turning the Avreichim into criminals”.
