BD”H: Hagaon R’ Shmuel Eisenstein ZT”L Rosh Yeshivas Ponovetz Le’tserim Passed Away

BD”H: Hagaon R’ Shmuel Eisenstein ZT”L, Rosh Yeshiva of Ponovetz Le’tserim passed away earlier today (Wednesday) in Mayenei Hayeshua hospital in bnei Brak. The Rosh Yeshiva was 88 years old.

The Rosh Yeshiva was hospitalized a few weeks ago after he lost conscious, and has been hospitalized ever since. This afternoon his condition took a turn for the worse, and with the presence of his family who recited Shema Yisroel he was nifter.
The Rosh Yeshiva served as a Rebbe and Magid Shiur in the yeshiva throughout the years and was appointed to the post of Rosh Yeshiva after the Passing of Hagaon R’ Michel Yehuda Lefkowits ZT”L and Hagaon R’ Naftali Nebenzal ZT”L.

He spent his entire life toiling in Torah in a most fascinating way. In the course of the many decades he was marbits Torah, he taught thousands of talmidim, always giving each talmid the proper attention he needed.

R’ Eisenstein published “Chidushei R’ Akiva Eiger” with the haskamah of R’ Shach ZT”L”
The levaya will take place tonight (Wednesday) 8:00 PM Israel time, in Yeshivas Ponovetz Le’tserim in Bnei Brak, and will make its way to the Ponovetz Beis Hachaim where the Rosh Yeshiva will be laid to rest.
