‘Karlin’ Matzah Bakery Goes Up In Flames

Police have ruled out the possibility of Arson as the cause for the large fire that broke out in the ‘Karlin’ Matzah bakery late Friday night. The Fire decimated the entire factory and left the structure totally unfit for further Matzah baking.

It is assumed that the fire was caused by accident, most probably a box of matzahs was left to close to the chimney and caught fire, resulting in the large fire that destroyed the bakery.

Since Motzei Shabbos crews have been working around the clock to clean up the rubble and restore the bakery to its original level of service, so that the baking can resume as soon as possible. With Pesach just about a week away, the goal is to have the bakery up and running with one day.

The bakery is one of the most advanced and sophisticated ones in service, it includes all the hiddurim and is under the hashgacha of the ‘Eidah Hachareidis’ and the ‘Va’ad Rabbanei Karlin’.

The bakery wasn’t exclusively used by ‘Karlin’; it was also the preferred choice of many kehillos around Israel for their Matzah baking.

As previously reported here in “Bechadrei Chareidim” the Karliner Rebbe was supposed to arrive at the bakery today, together with his usual chabura to bake matzos for pesach.
