Ten Year Old Passes Away From Injuries Two Days After Father

Terrible tragedy: Two days after he was badly injured and his father Omri Nir Z’’L passed away trying to save him, 10-year-old Ilay Nir Z”L passed away from his injuries.
Soroka hospital in Be’ar Sheva released a statement saying that 10-year-old Ilay who arrived at the hospital on Friday afternoon critically injured from a fall in Nachal Tseilim has passed away.



“Bechadrei Chareidim” previously reported that Ilay Z’’L, arrived at Soroka trauma center in Be’ar Sheva suffering from multiple injuries including severe head injuries. Over the weekend a team of doctors worked tirelessly to stabilize the young boy. Unfortunately, the child’s condition did not stabilize and kept deteriorating. Today (Sunday) afternoon his situation worsened even more and he was nifter.

As previously reported, on Friday afternoon a group of fifteen classmates from Emek Chefer including Ilay and his father went on a jeeping tour. Ilay lost his footing on a steep slope and his father jumped after him in an attempt to save him. Unfortunately, they both fell off the 70-meter cliff.

Dr. Omri Nir Z’’l (50) was nifter on the spot and his son Ilay was transferred by helicopter to Soroka hospital in Be’ar Sheva where he was nifter earlier today.
