Dov Sharut a six year old boy from Nevey Yackov in Yerushalayim was reported missing yesterday afternoon. A major search was immediately launched to track down the missing child. The search lasted throughout the afternoon and into the night until the boy was b’’H found at 10 AM near the Arab town of Hismeh- in good health. His father, Howard Sharut shared details with “Bechadrei Chareidim” of the search, anxiety and the miracles he experienced.

“It was a great feeling to see all those people searching for my son. I want to thank the police, Mishmar Hagvul (border police), Hatsalah and anyone that helped in the search. B’’H my son is fine and I greatly appreciate them (volunteers) and their effort”.

The father says that he had no indication of what was going to happen “my son was missing for about sixteen hours. I had no sign that this was going to happen. After he was found I met him in the police station, I was so happy to see that he was fine…My son is autistic and he did know or understand what was going on, he was just happy to see me and give me a hug”.

When asked if he plans on making Bircas Hagomel, the father emotionally replied “I am going to ask a Shaila if I should make an Hagomel”

As “Bechadrei Chareidim” previously reported. The boy got off a bus together with his father in Rechov Naimon in Neve Yackov, shortly afterwards he went missing. As it became apparent that the boy was missing, police set up a command center on Rechov Naimon to help direct the search. volunteers searched the entire neighborhood and its surroundings throughout the night looking for the missing child. The assumption was that the boy who is autistic and blind in one eye fell asleep or sought shelter as he was wandering around lost.

There was great concern for the boy’s safety after the father reported that his son was not properly dressed for the cold Yerushalmi night.

As mentioned the boy was B’’H found at 10:00 in the morning, he was spotted by a look out post of the Mishmar Hagvul (Border police). The boy was wandering around near the Arab town of Hizmeh confused and exhausted but healthy. The officers that found him calmed him down, offered him a drink and called in MADA to have him checked out.
