A Wave of break-ins to homes in Beitar ilit this past Shaboss: While authorities were preoccupied with saving lives and putting out the many fires across Israel, thieves took advantage of the low vigilance, broke into homes and business stealing many valuables.

On Motzei Shabbos calls starting pouring into the Shai district police station reporting the many robberies which had taken place over Shabbos. “Bechadrei Chareidim” confirmed that four homes and two business were robbed on the streets of Yismach Yisroel,Kedushas Levi, Hachozeh Melublin,Harav Shach and Harav mutzafi.

Shai regional Police detectives have opened an investigation which will hopefully lead to the arrests of those responsible for the robberies. Officials in the Beitar municipality have told “Bechadrei Chareidim” that aside from the ongoing police investigation, the local municipality is putting in a tremendous effort to tighten the security around the city. Many cameras are being installed all around the city and a new surveillance command center is being set up.

In addition, in the coming weeks Beitar will be inaugurating a new police station built in the municipality emergency compound. The Gush Etzion police station is set to move to this new location in the city. Hopefully this move will prevent such incidents in the future.
