Throughout his entire presidential campaign Donald j. Trump maintained a very strong pro-Israel stance and even attacked president Obama’s strained relations with Israel. Now, with a sweeping victory on his side the time to act has arrived.
Will Trump follow through with his election promises of allowing total freedom in building in Yehuda, Shomron and Yerushalayim? Can we expect to see big moving trucks any time soon, transferring the American embassy from Tel Aviv to Yerushalayim?
James Greenblat, Trump’s Senior advisor and vice president of the Trump company, gave an interview this morning to Galay Tsahal ( Israeli army radio.) Greenblatt explained: ’’He (Trump) does not see building over the green line as an obstacle to peace. A clear proof of this is Israel’s’ unilateral withdrawal of all Jewish settlements from the Gaza strip, and peace has still not been achieved.
Speaking to Galay Tsahal (israel army radio) Greenblat explained Trumps position. “He sees Israel in a tight spot that is constantly forced to defend herself. Peace can only be achieved if initiated by both parties, and he does not plan on intervening on the matter. We are not going to force the two side to sit down and negotiate peace.”
Greenblatt was also asked if Trump will indeed move the American embassy from Tel Aviv to Yerushalayim? and why does he think Trump is any different than past presidents that haven’t made the move.
Greenblatt replied saying, “Donald Trump is in fact different then the past presidents.” He views Yerushalayim as the capital of Israel despite all the resolutions passed by UNESCO. He recognizes the right of the Jewish people to be in their eternal capital Yerushalayim, and he is totally disgusted with UNESCO”.
