US presidential candidates produced quite a few headlines after the debate held last night (Tuesday) on Long Island. The debate, first of three, lasted an hour and a half. Among other matters, Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump discussed the US economy, racial tensions, nuclear deal with Iran and ISIS.

Meanwhile, there is no official winner announced, although it seems that Clinton did better. She managed to agitate Trump, and he retaliated by saying that she has low endurance capacity and is missing the capabilities needed to serve as president. Clinton, in return, brought up Trump's bank accounts he refuses to reveal, and his relationship with Putin.

After Trump had claimed that his great temperament is an advantage, Clinton said that it is impossible to give someone who becomes angry from a tweet to sit next to the red button. Clinton demanded to raise taxes on the wealthy, while Trump promised to cut taxes, open bad trade agreements and claimed that the Chinese and Mexicans are stealing jobs.

Clinton challenged Trump to release his tax returns, which Trump said he couldn't do because of an inspection. Clinton doubted whether Trump is as wealthy as he claimed to be and said: “There’s something he’s hiding.” Trump stated he’ll oppose his lawyers’ advice and release his taxes if she releases the "33,000 emails" she deleted.

The tone of the debate seemed to get more caustic as the debate neared its end.

The Democratic nominee also shredded Trump for his tax plan, which she claims would “blow up the debt” serving the wealthy. Trump described Clinton as late-to-the-game when it comes to viewing American trade agreements.

While Trump has attacked Clinton throughout the campaign as corrupt, the Clinton campaign has pushed the narrative of Trump's temperamental unfitting to lead.

Overall headlines in the American media claim that the conflict was relatively disappointing, and no wins by knockout. However, the two candidates improved on a personal level and may have caused more voters to get to the polls.
