No Smartphones: The newest fad in the US

A new phenomenon has taken over the Simcha halls in the US: signs placed at the entrance to the hall asking guests to abstain from using their smartphones throughout the event.

Askanim noticed that often, throughout a wedding, Bar Mitzva or other event, many guests are more occupied by their phones, than by the Simcha, to the chagrin of the family having the Simcha.

These Askanim volunteered and initiated the printing of signs in Yiddish and English, on which the family welcomes the guests joining in their Simcha and asks to join the Simcha fully by avoiding other distractions on their smartphones.

Any family having a Simcha, who is interested in such, can order these signs free of charge to place at the entrance of the hall. It seems that the signs are in great demand, and are found at the entrance to many halls.

As of now the signs are printed in Yiddish and English, yet it is quite possible that they will grow and become even more popular and be written in Hebrew as well.
