Historic peace in the Haredi world

Historic peace between Rav Shteinman and leader of the largest Hasidic community in Israel, Gerer Rebbe. The showing affection and respect for each other after years of separation caused a thrill of reverence in the hearts of tens of thousands.

It all started when a business person and a Gerer Hasid was requested by two sons of the Rebbe to contact the grandson of Rav Aharon Leib, Rav David Shapiro. Shapiro asked to speak with the boys themselves. They invited Rav Aharon Leib to Sheva Brachos and after confirming things - turned to his grandfather Rav Shteinman who heard the idea and immediately responded that he would go to the wedding.

The Rebbe's son spoke with Rav Aharon Leib For 20 minutes. Rav Aharon Leib said: "know your father and tell Rebbe, I am his true friend and always was."

Some concern arose from the for Rav Shteinman's safety at that great event and therefore Yeshiva Bochurim were instructed not to push it in any way. Yesterday late morning some associates met secretly, to address the technical matters and necessary arrangements.

Rav Shteinman's participation was kept secret until he arrived.
