Disaster in the United States - home of a Jewish couple in Houston, Texas burned down during Shabbos. The woman, Chava Leah Chapman perished in the fire, and her husband Rabbi Yosef Chaim ben Malka is hospitalized in serious condition suffering from burns and smoke inhalation.
Bechadrei Charedim learned that the Chapman family's house got caught on fire that broke out on Friday night. Firefighters arrived at the scene and put out the fire after neighbors broke into the house.
The couple, in their 70s, is known to have donated and contributed largely to the community in which they live in Houston. The public is called to Daven for the Refuah Shlema of Yosef Chaim Alter Ben Malka
The Jewish community is shocked by the tragedy. Police began investigating the fire.
