"We reached the T junction at Gush Ezion and suddenly there was a terrorist before us with a gun. He didn't manage to shoot us. We experienced a great miracle. The children didn't understand that we had been shot at. I called out to my wife, "how are the children?" She just told me, "Keep driving!"
I drove for ten minutes until I saw an army jeep. While driving I felt a cramp in my leg and saw a puddle of blood. I was afraid that I would lose consciousness. I felt I couldn’t' hold out any longer. My wife went to call the soldiers who put a tourniquet on my leg and took me to the hospital."
When asked if he would go back to Meizad for Shabbos he laughingly answered," My in laws live there. It is a mitzvah of kibbud av v'eim to go visit them."
