The committee chairman MK Avraham Nagusa stressed that both chief rabbis, The Rishon L'tziyon Harav Yitzchak Yosef and Harav David Lau have both requested that the ministry of religion extended the tenure of Harav Hadana. The minister of religion has promised that he will settle the problem.

Harav Hadana has testified," since the days of Harav Ovadia Yosef zt"l I am working with the support of all the chief rabbis in Israel. I try to the best of my ability to solve every problem without staging protests. I have trained 22 Ethiopian Rabbis throughout the country, as well as 13 people whose job is too research an individual's Judaism. I am hoping to finish up a number of other topics such as marriage registration and Judaism investigation. There are also many yeshiva bachurim who are preparing to enter the rabbinate. "

Yisrael Heno, assistant to Chief Rabbi Harav Dovid Lau has explained that the tenure of an official Rabbi of a city can be lengthened up until the age of 80 after presenting the correct paperwork. However Harav Hadana is officially recognized as a professional and not a Rabbi of a city, therefore in his field the official age of retirement is 67. He has also asked the government's social service office to make an exception to the age of retirement in the case of Harav Hadana.
