Rechnitz Founds New L. A. Kollel

As part of an effort to strengthen one of the World's largest Jewish communities Shlomo Yehuda Rechnitz has come up with the idea of bringing 25 avreichim and their families from Eretz Yisrael to Los Angeles. Bechadrey has learned that Rechintz is planning on opening the new Kollel for the coming Elul zman. A careful screening and recruiting of the avreichim is under way. Rechnitz's men are on the lookout for the elite of the Torah world.

Rechnitz will be paying each avreich a yearly salary of $50,000, in addition to providing housing and covering tuition for their children. In addition to learning in Kollel the avreichim will be expected to spread Torah amongst the community members by giving shiruim and conducting chavrusos with men of all ages. His goal: to instill a "Taam of Torah" in the community.

This new undertaking is in addition to the tremendous sums of money Rechnitz already invests into the support of Torah, especially helping his alma matter, the Mir Yeshiva.

It has become known that a number of those already selected are respected memebers of the Mir.
