UK votes Leave.
According to a BBC report Prime Minister David Cameron said he would attempt to "steady the ship" over the coming weeks and months but that "fresh leadership" was needed.
Cameron had urged the country to vote Remain but was defeated by 52% to 48% despite London, Scotland and Northern Ireland backing staying in.
As the markets reacted to the results the pound fell to its lowest level against the U.S. dollar since 1985.
Over 30 million people voted in the referendum – a turnout of 71.8% - the highest turnout at a UK lection since 1992.
