Turning tears into Triumph is an extremely powerful video presenting the thoughts of a number of speakers, Torah personalities, and close friends and family members of Mrs. Gayle Sassoon. Watching the film one is touched and inspired by the incredible strength of Gayle Sassoon, and her ability to painfully struggle to rise above the devastation and pain of her horrific loss-in order to become yet a stronger Bat Yisroel.
Many worthwhile projects have been launched around the world as a zechus for these pure children so suddenly taken from us. This tragedy has united Klal Yisrael in a beautiful way as so many Jews struggle to give meaning to this tragic loss, and most amazingly it is Mrs. Sassoon herself who gives us chizuk. Still healing from the serious burns she suffered while trying in vain to rescue her children from the blaze, we see her silhouette in the video as she bears her heart and shares her struggles with us.
Here is a woman who has suffered beyond our comprehension, yet she says that people often say that their own struggles pale in comparison to hers," It's not true. Everyone has their own challenges."
Gayle honestly tells us how she didn't know herself either before the fire. And that she didn't think she had the strength to go on either- but she decided to keep on trying anyway.
Rabbanit Yemima Mizrachi sends Gayle a message via the video. She tell her about the many babies being born all around Israel in Gayle's zechut. When Rabbanit Mizrachi asked Gayle last year what message she wanted to send to the women of Klal Yisrael she said," Tell them how precious babies are." Many women have since emailed the Rabbanit to share the birth of the baby they were inspired to have after hearing Mrs. Sassoon's message.
Gayle Sassoon's dream is turn the home in which her seven children perished into a place of happiness. It is she feels a holy place and so she would like it to serve a holy purpose.
With the video presentation she has launched The Sassoon 7 Project.
"The mission of Sassoon 7 is to build a center of Sasson Ve'Simcha - joy and happiness; on the very site where the tragedy that shook the world occurred.
This groundbreaking establishment will consist of various divisions including: an extensive library for all ages, a women's learning center, and children/teen enrichment programs. The facility will be accessible to all communities both locally and globally and will be dedicated to providing needed services and profound inspiration to the Jewish world.
The center and its holy mission is dedicated in memory of ELIANE, RIVKAH, DAVID, YEHOSHUA, MOSHE, SARAH, AND YAAKOV SASSOON, a"h"
