According to A Fox News report the Pentagon has held a video-teleconference with officials belong to Russian defense over the weekend after Russian bombed rebels backed by both the Pentagon and the CIA.

Russia bombed the American backed rebels that were fighting ISIS near Syria's border with Iraq and Jordan twice last Thursday.

The number of casualties in the bombings has not been specified.

This was not Russia's first wave of strikes against the American backed rebels.
Defense Secretary Ash Carter said that the Russian attacks were "problematic."
Pentagon Press Secretary Peter Cook made the following statement:

"[Defense] Department officials expressed strong concerns about the attack on the coalition- supported counter ISIL forces at the At-Tanf garrison, which included forces that ate participants in the cessation of hostilities in Syria, and emphasized that those concerns would be addressed through ongoing diplomatic discussions on the cessation of hostilities.

Officials requested Russian responses to address those concerns. The two sides reiterated the need to adhere to measures to enhance operational safety and avoid accidents and misunderstandings in the air space over Syria."
