The Ministerial Committee on Legislation will weigh in today on the law initiated by the Minister for Social Equality Gilah Gamliel that will exempt senior citizens over the age of 80 from having to wait on line in public places.
Gamliel said," Everyone is Israel has encountered instances where people of advanced age have had to weight on long lines. This new law will enable our elderly to get a full exemption from standing on line. The Pasuk 'M'pnei Seivah Takum, V'hadarta Pnei Zakein' has to be the the guiding light of healthy and patient society who recognizes and know to respect its elders. An exemption from standing on line is the minimum we can do for them."
