According to the Walla news site, yesterday former Minister of Defense Moshe Yaalon speaking at a meeting of the Herzliya Interdisciplinary Center for Statesmanship and Strategy said, ”last month I resigned from my position as Minister of Defense and Member of the Knesset. In my statement, I said that I would return to public life and I intend to compete for the party leadership in the next elections.”
According to Walla, Yaalon attacked the current Government, especially Prime Minister Bibi Netanyahu. “As of now there is no immediate threat to the State of Israel, not even by Iran, and it would be best if the current Government would stop scaring its citizens by talking about a second holocaust.”
Opposition leader Yitzhak Herzog also spoke and strongly chastised the Netanyahu government, claiming that its members talked a lot but in essence have done nothing for the country’s security.
