In honor of Shavuos Shweky expresses his deep feelings of longing and gratitude to the Gadol Hador he was privileged to know personally. Shweky sings "Maran Sheli" opposite the likeness of Harav Ovadia painted by Shweky's wife. His words are accompanied by pictorial representation of key moments in the history of Harav Ovadia Yosef.
Yakov Shweky said," Music is my personal means of expressing my feelings. This song was produced as a simple expression of appreciation to the Gadol Hador, whom I was privileged to meet during certain crossroads in my life. This song is another step in the process of the communal recollection of and acknowledgment of the ongoing inspiration a Gadol Hador leaves upon the lives of many Jews...Chacham Ovadia made sure to frequently mention his humble beginnings, in order that it would be clear to all that the Torah is available to everyone, even to the poorest Jew.
There is no more fitting time then Erev Chag Matan Torah to express longings for he who personified the holy Torah in our generation. .."
"Maran Sheli" is part of the album "Maamin B'nissim", words Udi D'mari and Miriam Yisraeli, music by Yitzi Wilner
