Arabs threw stones - the yeshiva responded with cholent

Palestinian rioters broke into Mount Zion Yeshiva on Friday night.

During the Saturday night dinner, 15 Palestinian residents of Silwan aged twenty were rioting at Mount Zion Yeshiva, and threw stones into the dining room.

Yeshiva students who feared rioters carry weapons, fled in panic. After a while, when it became clear that this is not the case the boys returned and attacked the rioters, whilst throwing at them everything in sight, including metal chairs, hot cholent and boiling water.

Number of rioters were burned and they fled the scene.

Yossi Yisraeli a yeshiva student told Behadrey Haredim "whilst singing stones were thrown at us, we ran and I ran to alert the security forces, but they arrived a half hour late, but miraculously no injuries took place.

Conversation with Behadrey Haredim says the Rosh Yeshiva Rabbi Avraham Goldstein: "This is unprecedented. This is the first time such a thing happens on Mount Zion. We have good relations with all religions there, we hope the police will work to the fullest extent of the law in this matter."

It should be noted that the police arrived on the scene says that throwing stones was documented by security cameras in the area, and the rioters are known to police from previous events and will work for their detention.

On Motzei Shabbos the Rosh Yeshiva gathered the students and asked the students to exercise restraint and not to use violence following the incident on Friday night. Now police are guarding the yeshiva area.

Last week during a wedding held in a different area on the mountain, Arab rioters broke into the scene to disrupt the event, only after a long time police arrived and dispersed the rioters.
