Boy kidnapped baby: "I wanted to feel a big brother"

A story which is both moving and disturbing occurred in Modi'in Illit: a boy who wanted to feel 'what it's like to be a brother' kidnapped a baby from a nursery today (Tuesday) for a short while.

This morning a 14 year old came to a nursery in Modi'in Illit, and asked to bring out a 10-month-old baby, on the pretext of being sent by the mother to do so.

The nanny transferred the baby to the boy and called the mother to make sure it is true. The mother made it clear that she does not know the boy, but the boy was already gone and the babysitter called the police.

Patrol cars of Modi'in Illit performed searchess across the city, and soon located the boy strolling with the baby, and is intact and scared.

The boy was detained with his parents in the youth department at the Binyamin station. During his interrogation he claimed that he had no younger brothers and wanted to know "how it is to have a little brother", the boy was released under restrictive conditions.

The babysitter was summoned for questioning under caution for negligence, and the baby was returned to his parents.
