Tonight (Sunday), shortly before 1:00 am, nine targets of the Syrian army in the Golan Heights were attacked by the IDF by air and land, in response to the fire this morning at fence workers.
The IDF said "Nine Syrian military targets were attacked in response to the shooting this morning at Israeli civilians who worked west of the security fence, resulting in the killing of an Israeli teenager and wounding of two other civilians. Targets belonging to the Syrian army include a headquarters and firing positions. Precise hits in targets were identified."
According to unofficial reports, among the targets attacked using 'Tammuz' rockets, was a site of the 90 division of the Syrian army in Quneitra, a site of the Syrian army in Tel Maschara and a site in Serie Khamis. No injuries were reported among Syrian troops as a result of IDF attacks so far.
Syrian sources reported that at least two killed in the attacks, and that much havoc was caused at the headquarters which was bombed.
The Israeli Air Force is still circling over Syrian territory.
At the shooting incident this morning, Muhammad Krakara, 15 year old resident of Kfar Araba, who accompanied his father Fadi to work as a contract worker of the Ministry of Defense, was killed on the first day of vacation. An advanced Cornette anti-tank missile fired from Syria killed him instantly, his father was injured."We identified a hole created in the fence as a result of a direct hit in a truck," explained a senior IDF officer this morning. He further added that it looks like an attack and not like a shooting leakage. It is estimated that it was fire on the other side.
Information Department of the Syrian rebels in Quneitra issued a statement following the incident which turned the finger at Assad's forces "Persian occupation forces fired rockets this morning from a position in Seria Sbeida one an Israeli patrol and hit it directly." It also said that "This is a violation of international agreements already carried out several times."
Blogger Yoni Alper reported that jihadist rebels reported today that three Syrians from the village Jovata El-Chashav in the Syrian Golan Heights, were killed today by a Cornette rocket fired by the Syrian army near the border with Israel.
This is the same advanced anti-tank missile fired by the Syrian army on the Israeli border at the truck this morning, which led to the death of Muhammad Krakara.
During the day, the Syrian army shelled the border area with Israel, which according to the Syrian opposition forces, it was mistaken shooting of the Syrian army in the north which led to the incident.
Earlier this month a barrage of rockets from Syria was fired at the northern Golan Heights. A battery of the air defense system "Iron Dome" stationed in north was activated, for the first time and as a result of the shooting, a fire broke out in Alonei Habashan area. There were no casualties.
"The shooting yesterday is a most serious act of provocation carried out as a continuation of a number of attacks in recent months against IDF forces across the border in general and this region in particular," the IDF spokesman said in a statement. "The IDF will act determinedly in any way and at any time it sees fit to protect the people of Israel."
