13 year old boy from Araba killed in the explosion on Syrian border

Incident on the Israel – Syria border: Muhammad Qurak, 13, accompanied his father, a civilian contractor working in the Ministry of Defense, was killed this morning (Sunday) in an explosion near Tel Hazka in the Golan Heights. His father was seriously injured and another one seriously. Security cabinet will meet today at 20:30 PM at Jerusalem.

Major General Eyal Ben - Reuben, a former deputy commander of the Northern Command, Army Radio: "This incident is serious and, unfortunately, not surprising."

The youngster who was killed, and his father, who was injured in the incident, is Araba villagers. Father is working with Ministry of Defense as a contractor. According to reports, emergency room Ziv Medical Center brought three wounded by an explosion in Tel Hazka in the Golan. One was wounded in critical condition and 1 moderately from shrapnel wounds all over their bodies. The third was slightly injured and in shock.

The blast occurred near a civilian vehicle that moves on the ground of Israel, IDF forces including combat helicopter, combing the area.

The reason for the explosion is unclear, according to the hypothesis that it is the explosion of a mortar shell exploded there, but the possibility that terrorist charger planted in the area.

"We identified a hole created as a result of a direct hit by a truck," explained a senior IDF officer who says "not yet clear identity of the shooters, although the area is controlled by the rebels - reduces the chance that Hezbollah fighters or Assad's army are behind the incident".

A senior officer said the incident looks like an attack not like shooting leakage. It is estimated that it is a shooting attack.

Earlier this month barrage of rockets was fired from Syria to the northern Golan Heights. Battery air defense system "Iron Dome" stationed in northern activated for the first time and intercepted the shooting, a fire broke out in Aloni Bashan. There were no casualties.
