Sorrow to joy: a widower, became engaged to his wife's sister

Five weeks after his wife was killed in a car accident, widower got engaged today (Wednesday) with his wife's sister.

Erev Rosh Chodesh Iyar a serious car accident occurred in Arad, when a young woman, Mrs. Chana Sheina Barnett a"h, 21 crossed the street, and was hit by a passing taxi. She was badly injured and was evacuated by helicopter to Soroka Hospital in Beersheba.

The doctors fought for her life. Sadly, after about a week - in May, she returned her soul to its Creator, and was buried in Jerusalem.

Her husband, Rabbi Simcha Bunim Barnett who was widowed a few months after his marriage opened a new page.

This afternoon, the engagement was held in Kiryat Gat, and the widower became engaged to a wife's sister, Sara Hershkowitz.

Her father, Rabbi Meir Yosef Hershkowitz is the legendary Baal Koreh of Gur Hasidim in Arad and was one of the first Chassidim of the Rebbe the Lev Simcha who arrived on his behalf to settle in the city.
