The Jewish community in Sofia, Bulgaria breathes with relief today: Bulgarian police arrested four youths for allegedly spraying graffiti and swastikas on the wall of main synagogue in the capital of Bulgaria.

The incident occurred on the second day of Shavuot "Yom Tov of Exile" when Jews came to the synagogue were horrified to find the words "Death to the Jews" and swastikas on the bulletin board at the entrance to the synagogue downtown.

Community immediately called the local police.

The police took away the building's security cameras and rapid investigation was conducted and focused.

After checking security cameras, police arrested four young men aged 19 and 20 on suspicion that they are related to the event.

Remands suspects were brought to court and accused of anti-Semitism and threats.

It should be noted that the Sofia Synagogue is the largest synagogue in the Balkans, and the third largest in Europe.

It was inaugurated on September תרס"ט by King Ferdinand I. Building area is 659 sqm, and contains 1,170 seats.
