Mikveh went on fire – sofer was miraculously saved

Teams of fire fighters from the Haifa local station put out a short time ago a fire in an apartment on the second floor on the street Heinrich Heine in Haifa.

Fire fighters gained control of the fire. Apartment landlord was slightly injured from smoke inhalation and burns.

It turns out, a sofer living in the apartment installed a makeshift mikveh, which he would heat up with heating element, activated using a Shabbos clock.

Next door there is a mother and her two toddlers who woke up at around 5:30 because of the fire and fled from the apartment.

The father who tried to put out the fire was injured from smoke inhalation and burns on his hand and evacuated for medical treatment at the hospital.

Team of fire fighters from Carmel center located down the street came just two minutes after they received the message, put out the fire and ventilated the building.
