After a period of calm, this evening (Wednesday) , rockets from Syria were fired into the Golan Heights.

A battery of "Iron Dome" stationed in the north, was activated but failed in an interception attempt. Overall, three launches were identified.

Fire broke out at several locations in the area between Alonei Habashan and Ein Zivan in the Golan Heights, because of the rocket explosion. Fire forces from stations in the Golan Heights and Upper Galilee were called to the scene.

There were no casualties.

IDF forces also identified shooting in Mount Hermon area. In this case too there were no casualties or damage. Both cases are probably a further leakage of civil war in Syria into Israel.

It may also be shots of joy due to Assad's victory in the presidential elections.

Bashar Assad who was elected today for another term with 88.7 percent of the votes, published in his Facebook page: "Do not shoot into the air in celebration, which could harm civilians."

Assad called on citizens to express their national feelings in a high moral and cultural way which befits the Syrian people.

According to the television network Al - Arabiya, from insurgents sources in the Syrian Golan Heights, the two Syrian army tanks whose shells exploded in Israel, were destroyed near the Quneitra crossing using two missiles fired by the IDF from the Israeli Golan border. The IDF said that the incident did not occur.
