Counting over a quarter of the election in Egypt last night (Wednesday) suggests that the former defense minister, General Abdel - Fattah A - Sissy, won 93 % of the vote.
Cairo has already begun to celebrate the anticipated victory, and mass supporters of Sissy are on their way to the central square.
Reportedly, his opponent Hamdeen Sabah received only 2.9 % of the vote, while 3.7 % belong to the white notes.
But turnout was low, and was extended on the elections to increase voter turnout giving citizens three days to vote.
Reuters reported, citing legal sources that the overall voting rate stands at 44.4 percent.
Media affiliated with a - Sissy reported participation rate to 48%, or 26 million voters.
