Dinar this year was very successful , many guests who came, came to express their appreciation to the blessed operations of Agudath Yisrael of America which is the only country representingthe ultra-Orthodox community and looking after them, " says the chairman of the movement, Rabbi Shlomo Vardiger in a special call to Behadrey Haredim.
Hundreds arrived yesterday (Tuesday) evening, for the dinner in Manhattan Hilton 92nd conducted by Agudath Yisrael of America.
Participated by the greatest rabbis in Israel of America led by President Council of Torah Sages of Agudath Yisrael Rebbe of Novominsk. The one who ran the event was chairman of Agudath Yisrael of America, Rabbi Shlomo Vardiger.
Guest of honor at the event was Mayor of New York Bill de Blasio.
Rabbi Vardiger, presented by the Mayor began: "A recent survey stated that religious schools in the city, attended by about 95,000 children, means that each grade of 11 classes in New York, is a yeshiva or Talmud Torah.
"This is amazing! Would the surviving parents who came to America, have believed that Haredi society will stand up again and get to those numbers? By Grace of God it happened and we will continue to grow.
All thanks to the Torah sages and homeowners visionaries and thanks to the generous government and their elected officials who understood the uniqueness of the Jewish community and its needs, and that helped us every step of the way, we feel very fortunate to live in the kingdom of grace.
"The new mayor Bill de Blasio has an important part of the flowering of the Jewish community in New York. During his years in public service and as city council member for many years".
Mayor thanked Rabbi Vardiger for his warm words and recalled hundreds of participants on the friendly relationship with Rabbi Vardiger and praised him for his talent and operations in the public interest.
The speech was devoted by the mayor to the recent anti-Semitic incidents in Brooklyn when he intended to graffiti painted recently, the mayor said that intolerance towards Jews is a phenomenon that must be stopped, "we do not go through the agenda and will not allow intolerance and hate crimes against Jews".
Finally he noted that one of the important things to be mayor of New York is the right to be mayor with the highest concentration of Jews.
Conversation with Behadrey Haredim, says Rabbi Vardiger: "Since the appointment of a new mayor , we have a member of the City Hall, during the Bloomberg era we did not have anyone to talk to, but he can hear us, listen to our problems, he did not always agree with us and we not always agree with him , but we have a sympathetic ear , he also feels gratitude to us who helped him get elected", said Rabbi Vardiger.
