MK Ayelet Shaked said today (Tuesday) that the Haredim are the growth engine of the state of Israel. Hearing held by the Economics Committee on the development of employment centers in Jerusalem on Jerusalem Day, Shaked referred to integration into Haredi society and its impact on employment cycle in general and in particular.
"Just as the Russian immigration in the 90s was the engine of growth time," said Shaked, "it is expected that the next decade Haredim will form the engine of growth in Israel, particularly Jerusalem."
Meeting was held with the participation of the Mayor of Jerusalem, Nir Barkat, discussed issues related to improving the employment situation in the city. During the discussion MK Shaked turned to the mayor of Jerusalem, and asked him to cooperate with the prime minister and soon to worry about passing military colleges to the capital to strengthen its position. "As I know, the pressure of the Americans prevents the transfer of institutions in Jerusalem. We need to take a decision and finish this project.
The mayor said that Americans do not cause delay in the transfer of institutions, and that the plan is to move the military colleges Bezalel building on Mount Scopus, and the whole Bezalel College downtown. "The issue is now being discussed between the Ministry of Defense and Ministry of Finance on the subject of funding," he said.
MK Shaked welcomed the decision: "I am happy that the project started. Make sure to put your weight on regarding to get the project underway. "
