Again there are allegations of espionage activities carried out by Israel against the United States: American magazine "Newsweek" published another article which is suggesting that during a visit to Israel of former U.S. Vice President Al Gore, an Israeli spy was discovered in the ventilation canal of his room at the hotel.
According to Israeli officials' reaction, this is probably a maintenance man, and they knew nothing about these allegations.
According to the allegations in the article, Israel is busy stealing technological and industrial secrets and enticing U.S. scientists and security officials to come to Israel, where they steal secret technologies from them.
In an article based on an interview with U.S. intelligence officials on condition of anonymity, officials say that "Israel is handled with kid gloves. If India and Japan were seen for similar acts, it would become an international scandal."
Senior officials claimed that "there is no other country that takes advantage of the proximity to the U.S. for espionage purposes such as Israel. Israelis do not care. You catch them in the act and they shrug and ask if you want anything else."
If you had any doubts what the purpose of the article is, it is clarified with claims brought in last week's article about "true" reasons for which allegedly Israelis do not accept giving up a U.S. visa. "The growing numbers of young Israelis who receive a permanent U.S. visa is alarming due to the suspicion that some are already serving the Israeli espionage, or got there in the first place thanks to stolen and lost passports made possible thanks to the policies of the Israeli government."
