"Amendment of speech should be strengthened," reflected Hagaon R' Aharon Leib Steinman to friends of the yeshiva student Eliyahu Stefanski z"l from Ponovez yeshiva ketana.
Friends of Eliyahu Stefanski, who died at the age of 16, went to the home of Hagaon Rabbi Aharon Leib Steinman to hear from him words of encouragement.
R' Aharon Leib strengthened the youngsters and said, "The Almighty does everything in benefit of man, everything is to benefit, for if it not to benefit then what is the use? Even troubles, even disasters, are intended to benefit. "
With regard to the tragedy, R' Aharon Leib said: "To our dismay, because of the many tragedies, people are not shocked any longer and are not aroused as in the past, so it's good if the friends are shocked by the death of their friend. This in itself is strengthening, since unfortunately recently death, Heaven forbid, has become an easy matter for people, and they are not aroused by it."
R' Aharon Leib recommended that one should strengthen, especially among yeshiva students, the adherence to prohibitions of speech and avoid loshon hora, rechilus and more.
Meanwhile the deceased's will was published, which he wrote from his sickbed. In his will he seeks to strengthen the saying of 'Aleinu leshabe'ach': "I sent a few weeks ago to Maran Rosh Hayeshiva shlita," he wrote, "to ask how to add merits, and he said so: "he should increase the honor of Heaven - strengthening of kvod shamayim" .
"I recently heard from one of the tzaddikim who came to see me, that 'Aleinu leshabe'ach' as we know is an awesome prayer, and it has all the verses of faith, and requests for the honor of Hashem, and it needs much chizuk, and one who has intention in all the words of aleinu leshabe'ach, merits to sanctify G-d's Name even before pamalia shel mala who come to listen to the people of Israel saying this prayer.
"Well 'my soul is my request' from all my acquaintances from near and far ... to strengthen the saying of aleinu leshabe'ach with intention or at least in part, for the honor of His name, blessed be He, and I have no doubt that these prayers if said with intention, will bring about great honor of Heaven and pleasure to Hashem".
