Satisfaction of the Jewish community in Brussels, Belgium with Erik Thomas, Mayor of Anderlecht – a Brussels suburb, who ordered yesterday (Sunday) the police to disperse a protest of about 400 members of anti-Semitic movements who demonstrated against the Senate.

This is a group calling itself the "Stand Up Belgians" which organized an anti-Semitic demonstration. Among the participants was the comedian Dieudonne, inventor of the new hand movement, and whose public appearances were banned due to anti-Semitic messages which he would include in them, as well as members of Congress and many journalists.

The Belga news agency reports that police arrived with two fire fighting trucks, through which it sprayed jets of water at protesters – who scattered.

The mayor told the BBC that he decided to break up the demonstration for safety reason, because at the end of the demonstration, demonstrators planned to raid the streets.

The event was initiated by Lauren Lewis, a member of the Belgian Senate with a record of anti-Semitic statements, and anti- Israel who said in January in the Parliament that "the Holocaust was planned and financed by the pioneers of Zionism", and last year was photographed for an article, standing on the Israeli flag outside parliament.
