Mount Herzl disaster: six suspects are brought to trial

Jerusalem District Attorney (Criminal) announced today (Wednesday) six suspects in case of the lighting bridge collapse on Mount Herzl in 2012 that weighed prosecute offenses of involuntary manslaughter and causing injury by negligence, subject to the due process hearing to be held for them, if they wish.

Suspects who were let known that they are being considered prosecution are: Elad Lavie, Doron Lavie, Tomer Launidzah, Itzuv Bama company, Yitzchak Zucker and Oren Varshavsky.

When the relevant event suspects used the following roles: Itzuv Bama is the company which established the lighting bridge - under an agreement with the Ministry of Information; Elad and Doron Lavi were owners of the company and served as CEOs and COO of the Company respectively; Tomer Launidzah served as director of operations of the company; Oren Varshavsky has served as an engineer in the building and Yitzchak Zucker served as a safety event consultant.
As stated by the prosecution, investigation formulated infrastructure consisting of prima facie evidence that the above suspect's negligence caused the collapse of a lighting bridge during rehearsals of torch lighting ceremony at Mount Herzl in 2012, an event which caused the death of the late Hila halo Bezaleli and wounded soldiers.

The decision was made after the end of the interrogation and evidence gathering, which included moving opinions thorough experts from National Building Research Institute at the Technion recently.

Recall, the collapse of a bridge on Mount Herzl lighting the torch lighting ceremony rehearsal two years ago, caused the death of the late Vice Hila Bezaleli , wounding six soldiers, including one in fair condition and five in mild condition .
