Harav Hatzaddik Eliezer Berland, leader of Shuvu Banim congregation, left on Thursday from Zimbabwe to Johannesburg where he is expected to remain during Pesach.

A video footage which was circulated on the net shows Rabbi Berland boarding the plane at the Bolario airport in Zimbabwe, surrounded by a number of escorters and wearing a tallis and tefillin.

In the plane, followers were awaiting him while singing "Se'u she'arim".

Last week, Rabbi Berland was arrested for defects in his visa, and after interested factors gave authorities information about him. The state court imposed a fine of $200 and ruled his deportation from the country.

Associates of Rabbi Berland blame these factors for slander against the Rabbi in Israel and Morocco, and say they do not leave him in peace. "What does he want after all? To sit down to study quietly, and receive his followers', the associates say. They say the Rav will return to the state after Pesach.
