In the morning (Wednesday) the Rishon Lezion Hgr"y Yosef came to President Shimon Peres's residence, to recite the blessing on the trees.

During the ceremony the Rishon Lezion gave President Peres the Yalkut Yosef book, when he insists it's upon the request of his father. "Just a year ago, when the President visited Maran during the Moed, and my father ordered me to give the president the book Yalkut Yosef to learn them and now I am fulfilling the commandment of the father."

"Father would study Rambam with the President over twenty years ago , I remember one time after completing the study, Father told me he is a big learner," added the Rishon Lezion.

During the visit the President's assistants went to the Rishon LeZion and asked his blessing for marriage. Workers of the President mentioned before the Rishon Lezion that whenever his father zt"l came together with the President - he had the patience to greet everyone pleasantly. Some of them even said "We got married thanks to the blessing of Rabbi Ovadia. We were single, looking for a match for a long time, we went to Maran and he blessed us all, all of us got married."
