Balza gets ready: 100 chassonim to get engaged within a week

About a hundred Hasidic young men avoided getting engaged in winter, due to the regulation banning it • Now all are expected to be engaged in a week

Belz Hasidim are getting prepared especially for the coming week, in which around 100 boys from all the yeshiva gedolah's throughout the country are expected to get engaged.

At the beginning of the year a regulation was amended, whereby young men of shiur beis will not be able to be engaged during the winter 'zman'. The regulation – which was carefully kept by the Hasidism - formed a 'jam' in the matchmaking of the 17 and 18 year old boys on the one hand, and on the other hand helped keep the learning and sdarim of the boys.

Now, with the end of zman, the boys will get engaged besha'a tova umutzlachas.

Even overseas boys who are studying in Israel, who will return home immediately after the second day on Chol Hamoed Pesach, during which they conduct the Seder with the Belzer Rebbe - will begin to get engaged after the holiday.

Most Hasidic yeshivas do not have regulations that kind that limit the boys from getting married, except Karlin Stolin which prohibits boys to get engaged until the month of Av in shiur beis.
