According to the Megilot locate and rescue teams, the Yeshiva students apparently came to the outskirts of Jericho.

Rescue teams of the Megilot Dead Sea were asked to go out and help the IDF detect and rescue them.

Gura Berger, a spokeswoman for "Megilot rescue unit" said: "Six Yeshiva students who have lost their way in Wadi Kelt managed to get to the internal road to Jericho, where they tried to hitch a ride. They were identified by screening teams unit and were ordered to wait in hiding, from where they were rescued a few minutes later by the rescuers when they were safe, and now make their way back to Mitzpe Jericho."
