Boro Park: came out of grandson's wedding and attacked by 'knockout'

Violent knockout game took another victim yesterday (Monday): This time it was benefactor Rabbi Sinai Yitzchak Waldman, 65, a prominent Satmar chossid, who came to visit his grandchildren who live in Boro Park, Brooklyn.

The incident occurred after midnight at the intersection of Mc. Donald and 18th Avenues. Waldman came out of his grandson's wedding which was held at the banquet hall in Palace Hall in the area.

He said two young men emerged from behind and hit him in the head and he fell to the ground. As a result of the fall he hit his face, and his nose was broken, he was rushed by Hatzala ambulance to the Maimonides Hospital in Boro Park.

The two young men fled.

A relative of the victim called the police and Hashomrim volunteers to the place. A police investigation shows that the young people did not try to steal their victim's wallet or his mobile cell phone which was in his pocket, but functioned as part of the infamous 'knockout' game, which has become a trend of young gentiles, competing in overthrowing the victim with a single punch in the head.

Meanwhile, police rounded up security tapes from the attack area, to identify the attackers.
