Permission to publish that in a joint IDF and Shin Bet operation arrested in January 2014 some members of the military squad from Nablus, who carried out a shooting attack at an Israeli vehicle at the intersection of Jit, near the settlement of Kedumim in Samaria. As part of the squad members fired at an Israeli vehicle, no casualties were reported. Soon after, squad members threw explosives at another passing vehicle.

On February 25, 2014 around 00:30 they carried out a shooting attack and threw stun grenades at an IDF position in Birzeit. It was cleared for publication that two days after the attack, the activity of the General Security Service, in cooperation with the IDF and the police arrested a number of residents of Birzeit, activists of the "Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine" (PFLP), suspected of carrying out the attack.

As part of the attack squad members fired at an Israeli vehicle, no casualties were reported. Then the squad members threw an explosion at another passing vehicle.

Interrogation of detainees in the GSS shows that two months before the said event the squad was involved in two unsuccessful attacks, despite intelligence gathering to the attack and training carried out by firing squad members. During arrest the gun that was used to link an attack in question was caught.

The number of members was detained by security forces and is still held by them.

Arrest members of the squad, only days after the attack at Jit junction prevented the continued consolidation of a military squad, which has made several attempts in recent months to carry out attacks on Israeli civilians in the West Bank.

During arrest detainee killed, the authority issued a condemnation

One of the detainees, Paddy Sadiq Musa Wasaqa, born in 1987, previously convicted of terrorism offenses and served a number of prison sentences, admitted carrying out the attack with Muataz Wasaqa, and gave up an improvised rifle, which was used for the attack .

GSS interrogation of Paddy showed that he planned the attack several months ago, acquiring weapons and carried "dry run".

On attack, Paddy settled near the position, and made the shooting through the gun, while Muataz, who served as a lookout, was to warn him of the armed forces. After the attack, the two men fled Bir Zeit.

Muataz Wasaqa was killed during an attempt to arrest him, after several hours of refusing to surrender to the forces. Prior to his funeral a ceremony was carried out by the Commander and featured governor of Ramallah. After his death, the media, by the government of PA and PA officials, published condemnation against Israel for killing Wasaqa.
