Shortly before, a fire broke out in a dormitory of Tiferet HaTalmud Yeshiva led by Harav Berachyahu Shankar on Grossberg Street in Jerusalem.

Four firefighting teams from Jerusalem arrived, and the fire fighters took over at the focal point of combustion and evacuated the students from the yeshiva until the conclusion of smoke and ventilation in place.

Fire investigator Oren Avrahami noted that "this is a heater which was close to the mattress and thus that the reason for its outbreak.

"This is the place to mark the difficult even on Zephaniah Street in Jerusalem where unfortunately a young one year old toddler perished following the heater placed near the bed," said a spokesman for the firefighting Udi Gal, adding that "event today was a miracle and subsequent awareness of the local people and rapid activity of fire fighters who prevented disaster."

Firefighting and rescue forces repeatedly warn not to place heaters in close proximity to beds or other flammable material. Including not leaving heaters near children or unsupervised.
