Deputy Defense Minister Danny Danon, who is known as an unusual MK in the political landscape, does not hesitate to represent his constituents faithfully as he sees it, and to express their opinion on issues at hand unequivocally. As one of the leaders of the national camp in the Likud, he did not hesitate to attack the Prime Minister and party leader - when decisions were made which he thought did not match the values of the Likud.

Danon was interviewed last month for Behadrey Haredim following the approval of the criminal sanctions section of the Law of Equal Burden, and did not hesitate to say that the decision taken is wrong, and even called Bennett to join him and fight it. Last night (Wednesday), at a meeting with bereaved families, Danon said that the Prime Minister must stop the release of the Fourth Pulse terrorists, and did not hesitate to declare that he would resign if the prisoners will eventually be released. In response, Netanyahu's bureau officials said that " Danon will resign or the Prime Minister will send him a letter of dismissal"...

• Deputy Defense Minister Danny Danon. What made you now inform that you would quit?

"Three times prisoners have been released already, and they promised us that is in order to advance the negotiations with the Palestinians. In these three beats it did not get us anywhere. I hope the Prime Minister will understand this and refrain from releasing terrorists and we will not get to the situation where I would have to carry out the threat."

• Where were you in the previous releases?

"I have always made my point against the release of terrorists. But now it is clear to everyone that not only should they not release them, but it has nothing useful and meaningful. I'm not the only one who opposes these moves and there are more members in the Likud who oppose. I hope that other members will really join me and we can prevent the move."

• Did the Prime Minister gave you a message "resign or you're fired"? Do you know of a dismissal letter prepared for you?

"I did not receive any message from the Prime Minister nor receive any information about such a move. The information published in the media I saw in the media only, there was no message like that. This is not the first time that such messages are given to me through the media - and I am not afraid of them. I have the support of the National Camp in the Likud which supports my moves, and I expect them to support this objection to the next pulse of the release of prisoners."

• If the publication on Channel 2 will turn out to be true, and the Prime Minister will present you with an ultimatum, will you quit?

"I took into account the possibility. Even if the Prime Minister will indeed send me a letter like this - it will not matter, because I have already informed in advance that I was ready to quit against the release of prisoners. After notifying, it does not matter much in what form it will happen and who will send the letter".
.
• There will be those who will blame you that this is a declaratory move for political purposes only.

"I have always been known as a man who expresses his opinion and does not hide his views, and I have made clear, this was also my position ever since. This government is led by people that lead it to places far from traditional Likud values.

"Regarding the subject of recruitment, as I said, I was against the law and tried to lead the opposition to the law within the Likud and did not participate in the vote on the law in the plenary for the third reading. This law was led by Lapid, and many in the Likud opposed the article of sanctions because it was contrary to the path of the Likud. The move with Mahmoud Abbas is also led by Livni and is contrary to the path of the Likud. We are in a government led by Livni and Lapid to places that are against our way, and we will continue to fight it without flinching."
