Rabbi of Ukraine to Itzniok: Protect Jews
Anti-Semitism increasingly worse in Ukraine, led Rabbi Bleich to contact the Prime Minister of Ukraine: defend us from rioters

State of affairs in Ukraine is uncertain, on Sunday; the Prime Minister of Ukraine called for general mobilization in Ukraine, the security situation is getting worse.
The Jewish community is concerned; many of them left the Ukraine, those still there fear for their lives, because of recent anti-Semitic incidents which eradicated throughout Ukraine.
Rabbi Yaakov Bleich, chief rabbi of Ukraine, turned yesterday (Monday) to the Prime Minister of Ukraine Arseniy Itzniok demanding Ukrainian authorities to act decisively against groups of anti-Semitism and neo-Nazi who recently lifted their heads and work freely throughout the country, in order to protect the Jewish community and Jewish institutions and act against violent anti-Semitism in the country.
"We are concerned about the difficult situation in which we find ourselves. We have also to bear huge expenses for security and safety of Jewish communities and institutions for 24 hours in view of the difficult and dangerous situation", said the rabbi.
Trying to reassure the Jewish communities Itzniok promised that the country's security forces will overcome the protection around Jewish institutions and act decisively and harshly against attackers and all manifestations of anti-Semitism.
Since the riots began in Ukraine a number of Jews were severely assaulted in Ukraine and were hospitalized. Molotov cocktails were thrown at several synagogues. Threats were launched towards rabbis, including Rabbi of Kriuorog in the style of; 'Leave the city' was daubed with graffiti in praise of anti-Semitism and neo -Nazi parties and swastikas painted on Jewish institutions. So too art statues were brought down by Jewish artists, and recorded numerous warnings about possible attacks.
A month ago, a yeshiva student from Orech Chaim, Dov Ber Glickman was attacked and stabbed on Friday night in Kiev, and miraculously survived. A week earlier, a member of the great synagogue in the Podolski square in Kiev was violently attacked in the same place.
Three weeks before Molotov cocktails were thrown at the Bazhafroza synagogue and several synagogues near Kiev. Last week Rabbi Hillel Cohen Chairman of Hatzalah in Ukraine was attacked and stabbed in Kiev, and last Friday near the start of Shabbos the Chazkalaowitz couple were attacked and escaped. They were attacked by seven thugs and escaped just before lynch was performed on the as they found refuge in the synagogue.
