Not less than 651 medical cases on Purim day (Sunday) boosted Hatzalah volunteers, "according to data sent by organization spokesman.

Most injuries result from drunkenness - alcohol poisonings and violence, as well as injuries and accidents due to firecrackers. Hatzalah said that "this is an increase of 150% compared with the routine activity."

It should be noted that the Hatzalah voluneers from Jerusalem went on Sunday to reinforce the organization's volunteers in the central region due to the load of events. Today, the holiday of Purim in Jerusalem and walled cities, volunteers from across the country will arrive at the capital in order to meet rapid medical revelers when needed.

Zeev Kakash, chairman of United Hatzalah, said: "Even at the time that Israeli citizens celebrate Purim, thousands of Hatzalah volunteer's devotees continue to go out to any emergency call and to rapidly and effectively assist the sick and injured. We will continue to make every effort to enable a safe and happy holiday for everyone, and call for citizens to act responsibly and refrain from operations which endanger life. "
